Project Afterlife
A society that give dignity, to the history of old and fallen patriots. Were we creatively display the wisdom and life of our own fallen hero.
Project No: 0E3A
Let’s face it — as our cities grow, planning for burial spaces often takes a backseat. This leaves us with overcrowded cemeteries, limited options for eco-conscious burials, and a lack of spaces that honor traditions while fostering long-term thinking.
The Problem
Lagos, a rapidly expanding urban hub, faces a silent crisis: the lack of planned, sustainable burial spaces. Traditional cemeteries are overcrowded, poorly maintained, and often inaccessible for many families. These spaces consume valuable urban land while offering no ecological benefits. Families face exorbitant costs, emotional distress, and logistical hurdles to bury their loved ones. Additionally, the cultural resistance to alternative burial practices limits innovation, leaving a significant gap in sustainable urban planning.
Our Solution
Project AfterLife proposes a shift in how Lagos approaches burial practices by:
Eco-Friendly Innovations: Introducing tree capsules, biodegradable burial suits, and memorial walls that reduce land usage and promote environmental sustainability.
Cultural Integration: Partnering with cultural leaders to create awareness and acceptance of modern, sustainable burial practices that respect traditions.
Thoughtful Design: Developing serene, multifunctional spaces that serve as both burial sites and community parks, fostering reflection and connection.
“How a society cares for its dead says much about how it values its living.”
Our Roadmap
Identify Suitable Land: Work with local authorities to secure government-designated areas for eco-friendly burial spaces.
Create a Design Blueprint: Develop innovative layouts that blend greenery, sustainability, and cultural sensitivity.
Engage Stakeholders: Partner with environmental groups, cultural advocates, and investors to fund and implement the project.
